new version just came out on the 22nd!

imo, this (ImgBurn) is the best burning software out there for general DATA burning etc.

p.s. for AUDIO i already preferred the program Burrrn ( www.burrrn.net )

Yes it does. Just make a cue file first.

I choose not to support BurnAware because I feel they offered a free version only to get some free beta testers until they felt they had a good enough product to charge for.

cdburnerxp is way better for a freeware alternative.

Any of these free alternatives supports simultaneous burning? Copying? No? So why do you post it here?

Just because software B doesn't have one feature of software A doesn't mean people cannot post alternative solutions. Simultaneous burning imo is quite an advanced feature which I am willing to bet 99% of users won't use.

I also personally dislike companies who get known because of their software being good and also freeware, before which they removing it leaving only paid solutions on offer. Let's be honest now, people have always preferred to pay nothing for their software.

It sounds like "Windows? Why? You can use Linux it's free"

As free alternative I can recommend Burning Studio from Ashampoo, they offer older version for free.
It's much better than ImgBurn and Burrrrnn and CDBurnerXP and all other free burning software.

your joking right?

cause as far as free apps go i find it hard to believe that anything can be better than ImgBurn (especially if your doing fairly basic data burning and nothing to fancy) cause that guy (LightningUK) has a great rep for quality software.

and as far as Burrrn as i said before it loads up real fast (probably the fastest loading burning app i know of) and it gets straight to the point for audio and has a decent interface ... who can complain about that?

but i hear good thing about Ashampoo though... but the thing is... is that 'older version' still being updated? (Burrrn aint being updated but for AUDIO if stuff works it aint really needing a update.... ImgBurn just very recently (the 22nd) had a update)

It's ironic that the free obsolete version of BurnAware is listed on that page.

best free alternatives if your talking single programs and not a all-in-one sorta thing i think has to be...

ImgBurn for DATA and Burrrn for AUDIO as both apps load up super fast (especially burrrn) and get straight to the point and are quality software... cause as everyone knows the guy who makes ImgBurn also made DVD Decrypter and in it's day it was the best app out there for Decrypting dvd's.
