Windows 2.4.3 What!? And here I thought everyone has gone past Windows 3.2 by now.
I mean like pretty much everyone is on XP or Vista right now.

Can't believe GIMP still makes programs for a operating system that's so ancient.
Now that's dedication

By the way: It's not freeware.

Oh for pete's sake, not this again. What is with the holier than thou elitist attitude about open source stuff these days?

The only criterion for being classified as "freeware" is that the software must be made available for use for an unlimited time at no cost.

It doesn't matter if it's open source or commercial. If I can download it for free and use it freely with no limits it is freeware.

Gimp qualifies, stop nitpicking.

Gimp will never be as good as Photoshop.

Have you heard of such things called extensions? They add more functionality to Gimp and even a Photoshop junkie cousin of mine already loves the Gimp trying it on my Ubuntu. I recommend you try it then comment whatever you want

Photoshop has even more plugins than Gimp does.

Photoshop costs hundreds, GIMP is free. Your comparison fails.

You get what you pay for.

It's still not a valid comparison. Photoshop is not aimed at consumers.
