Palm is very much confident about releasing their Pre in the first quarter of 2009 as announced in CES '09. February 15 and March 1 are the dates in speculation for the launch of Palm Pre for sometime now. According to the BoyGeniusReport which caught hold of the Sprint End Of Life products list, March 15 has been mentioned as the date that Palm Pre will be in stock, in-stores to replace the Palm Treo 755p.

Will Pre hit the stores soon as rumored? Will Apple really slap a lawsuit on Palm despite the proof analysts are bringing out about Apple's multi-touch technology's existence as 'Prior Arts' even before the patent was filed. Is Apple trying to use a vague and commonly used multi-touch term to threaten its rivals?

Meanwhile, don't forget to check out the impressive spec list of Palm Pre and its awesome videos at Neowin.

Let's hope this target date is for real so as to stop the guessing game.

What proof??

This has in no way, shape or form been determined by a court of law. Until that happens it's all just speculation. 'Proof" in this sense doesn't exist until it has the weight of a ruling behind it.

You act like you're going to have an aneurysm when this finally hits the market.

Put it on youtube if your head explodes, please.

Then it isn't proof.

Why isn't it? Proof:

"The evidence or argument that compels the mind to accept an assertion as true."

What about the price? No numbers yet, or maybe I've just missed them.

Right now there's a ton of speculation on the price of the phone, with numbers ranging from $399 for an unlocked handset, to $149 under contract. When we spoke to both Sprint and Palm reps

Time to see how long it'll take for Palm to release a worldwide ready Pre. Hopefully it'll be out in Canada by the end of this year at least.

This comment just made LTD cry a single tear, like the native american man in that old litter commercial.

It's an interesting looking phone, I'll have to see it in person to decide what I think though. I doubt it'll replace my iPhone 3G but it may replace my wifes Treo 750 when her contract ends this summer. They should have significant bugs worked out of the firmware by that time. It'd be a good match for her since she does not want to lose the tactile keyboard (she hates typing on my iPhone) ... she isn't a huge fan of slider phones though.

This would make a nice Steak & BJ Day gift (March 14th)

Good, I hope it makes the iPhone users to quiet down.

Any idea on non-US launch dates yet?
#9 Andrew123 on 09 Mar 2009 - 20:07
Actually, it's very unlikely to be launched in March, now that the 15th is coming. They're actually holding a webcast on march 12, in which there is the small chance they will delay the Pre even further (see the link below):

As for a non-US launch date, I can update you on that. Vodafone will likely be the first, as they have already started negotiations with Palm for exclusivity in Europe:
