Following on from the Windows Live One Care beta and Windows Live announcements today Microsoft has also released Windows Live Security Center into beta.
The Security Center is an online web application that performs a scan of a users system to ensure there are no viruses on the machine, wasted disk space is removed, maintenance is performed and common open ports on firewalls are checked.
The scan is activated by an Active-X control and is all initiated online. The scan performs the following actions:
Virus Scan
Disk Cleanup Scan
Disk fragmentation Scan
Open Ports Scan
The Safety Center looks as though it's still in testing at the moment but it's available for you to try.
