It looks like the price being pitched is $400 – or one cent short of that."

I will wait until March 9th or whenever the new FX cards actually become available before making a choice between NVIDIA or ATI.

There should be some benchmarks out before too much longer but they will have to be really impressive for me to commit to a new card. I usually pass on first gen products when it comes to videocards.

It's got nice specs but I would wait until after the reviews alittle before buying this. I bought the 9700 right when it first game out like the first day, and only then did stuff that was never mentioned in the reviews come out. Like the lack of 16 bit Anti Aliasing, crazy incompatabilities with games like BF 1942 and others, and the infamous AGP 8x issue. It's all fixed now, but since this is a brand new architecture for Nvidia it might have some wierd things like that going on as well.

Best Buy? I doubt anyone with money sense would want to buy computer parts from there. It's usually better to go with smaller OEMs on PriceWatch or something.

I saw a picture it is huge!! I don't want a card that big and then it is totally hyped, I mean $500-$700 for a card is crazy. I will just buy an ATI 9700 which will drop in price when Nidvia brings out theirs and the ATI card is a much smaller card. I remember seeing the 3dfx 5 card and it was huge too, that was right around the time they lost the race against Nivida.

I can't wait for the FX............why? NOT because I want one, I wouldn't pay $400 for a video card, no matter who builds it. I just rebuilt a computer of mine for 500.00, minus the video, CD's, and HD's. The reason I can't wait? Cause when it comes out, the top of the line GeForce 4's will come down in price. Heck, most of the video software isn't written for the FX's anyway

Anyway, I don't run a lot of games on my computer anyway

$400 huh? and from best buy, that means it really costs $600, because they typed up the website wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hahaaahhahhaha
