Although the deal was originally announced in December, Activision shareholders have finally given approval today to merge with French telecommunications and media group Vivendi SA's games unit, Blizzard, creating a public company called Activision Blizzard. 92% of shares voted were in favor of the merger, which is expected to close on July 9. The deal gives Vivendi, creator of "World of Warcraft," a 52% ownership stake in the new company that would have annual revenue of $3.8 billion and more heft to take on Electronic Arts, the world's biggest independent game publisher.

I doubt this change has any effect at all on Blizzard's games. Blizzard's game studios will still remain the same and Activion's studios will stay where they are now. Mostly just a name change I think.

Well, if it's just a name change, then you're right. It won't make a difference. I just hope the merger doesn't cause a significant change in their management or staff, because that is what could ruin things.

From the article i see Vivendi/Blizzard having a majority control and Activision will prolly just be the sole publisher for all of Blizzards games, thats all.

I hope that activision finishes starcraft ghost. do it with the cod4 engine if they want. The premise of the game I thought was very good when it first came out, I think blizzard just let WOW overwhelm everything else.
